a note from Katie…
“I WANTED MORE FREEDOM TO TRAVEL & LIVE LIVE FREELY…
so I decided quit my growing photography business and take a leap into private photo editing. In my most successful stage of my photography business I was stressed, overworked, and tired of traveling alone for work. With photography, I got to add stamps to my passport and visit cities I never thought I’d see. I quickly learned that saying yes to more business, meant saying no to most of my weekends at home and taking more time off.
I needed more freedom to live. My business was running my life and I had lost all will power to take the next step of growth my business. The next step would have meant: higher pricing, much more solo travel, and more financial risk. To me, sacrificing even more time away from my family and vacation time just didn’t seem worth it - even if I had the opportunity to make more money.
I NO LONGER HAD A VALID OR INTENTIONAL REASON FOR WHY I WAS DOING THE WORK I WAS DOING, SO I LEFT IT ALL…
and took a huge leap into photo editing. My first six months of photo editing were part-time, while still working full-time in the remainder of my last year in my photography business. It was a lot of work, and it took commitment… but I KNEW my WHY.
I knew that editing would give me the freedom to travel full-time with my family and live life more intentionally, on my own terms. So, I pushed through the difficulties of starting a new business and finding my footing with many mistakes and trials and errors.
Now, being on the other side of my editing business - I am thriving in a career that serves my life exactly the way I intended it go AND I’m able to fund full-time traveling adventures for my family!
WITH THIS BUSINESS, WE ARE ABLE TO TRAVEL FULL-TIME & ADVENTURE YEAR-ROUND.
Check out the swipe-able gallery below to view a tiny portion of the places I was able to explore in a three month period WHILE running my photo editing business — I’m not joking when I say this business is flexible. I was able to work while camping in the Grand Canyon and after beautiful hikes in Sedona, Arizona.
This business can truly be created to serve the life you want.
These photos and locations are what I dreamt of when I started my business… now, I’m living that dream.
What would your dream life look like?
I want to encourage and empower others to be more intentional in their work and in their life - to only pursue things that bring them closer to the life they want. I’ve made it my passion to now share my knowledge I’ve gathered from my experience starting my photo editing business so that others could discover a job that serves them and adds more value to their life in a way that fits them best.
For me, that value is being able to spend time with my family while traveling and adventuring full-time.
What value would this business add to your life? How would it change you?
I’d love to help you get there if you feel photo editing is for you.”
